National Chi Nan University was rated 2nd most sustainable university in Taiwan, 45th out of 780 universities in the world and 8th in Asia in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2019.

The adage “crouching tigers, hidden dragons” is an apt description of National Chi Nan University’s faculty members and instructors, who are all top of their respective fields yet content to give their all to bettering the lives of students studying amidst the mountains of central Taiwan. Like master martial artists of the yore, teachers such as Hung Wen-jou pass on their skill sets selflessly. 

NCNU's energy conservation campaign yields green results
As the second highest-ranking Taiwanese university on the GreenMetric World University Ranking last year, NCNU proceeded to work with Taipower this year to launch an energy conservation campaign in May. The initial results show a grand culmination of NT$1.16 million in electrical bill savings, and a reduction of 181,000 kilograms of carbon emissions between June and September in comparison to the same period last year.
