NCNU finds alternative, pandemic-conscious measures to send off graduating class

This year, a total of 1,539 students — 1,095 undergraduates, 402 graduates, and 42 Ph.D candidates — succeeded in completing their degrees on the beautiful mountain campus of NCNU. With global traffic coming to a grinding halt due to border control and travel restrictions amid the Covid-19 outbreak, international pupils turned to the internet to share their moment of joy and news of returning home. NCNU indigenous heritage project shortlisted for MOC's public art award

The 7th Public Art Awards organized by the Ministry of Culture held an open call at the start of this year that received 236 submissions from the nation’s 18 cities and counties. Of the 37 applicants including this university that made the shortlist, six prizes are in play — the Excellence Award, Artistic Creation Award, Environmental Immersive Award, Public Participation Award, Education Outreach Award, and Civic Public Art Award. A scholar's most-treasured asset — Professor Jennifer Yu Ching-jung

A specialist in financial econometrics, Yu has been a professor with NCNU for over 17 years. She has mentored an incredible amount of talented students over the years, with many accepting offers from overseas universities and international companies upon graduating from Nantou. Yu places most emphasis on imparting informational acumen and a global perspective, both of which can be facilitated by keeping abreast of the latest theories through international publications and thesis reviews.
